Dear
Parents and Guardians,
As you know, our class will be going on a school bus to Isobel Lake on Tuesday, June 5th. We will leave the school at 9:00am.
These are the things your child will require on the day of our trip to ensure comfort and energy:
1. A lunch in an appropriate container with two drinks (reusable containers are preferred).
2. A sun hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.
3. A light jacket or shell and a light weight sweater, rain gear (be ready for all types of weather).
4. A small knapsack to carry all of the above. This is important so your child can have his/her hands free to explore during our field studies.
5. Comfortable clothes for hiking: long pants, short sleeved shirt, socks and running shoes (no sandals, flipflops, shorts or dresses). The students will be hiking the interpretive trail that is 3km long around the lake.
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help out on our field trip. Because there will be two classes travelling on the bus with limited seating, parent volunteers are asked to carpool and meet us at Isobel Lake. On the morning of our field trip, we will help arrange carpooling groups for parents, and will provide a map with directions to our destination. Parent helpers are asked to meet Mrs. Galloway in her classroom at 8:30am to go over the itinerary for the day. Parents will be working with a small group of students throughout the day.
I look forward to our trip next week. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Mrs. Galloway
