The word family taught today was the -ice family. We brainstormed words such as nice, spice, mice, advice, dice, etc.. Please practice these words with your child this week.

A reminder that Wednesday, Feb. 29th is Anti-Bullying Day. Please wear Pink to show your support and stand up to bullying.

A reminder that Wednesday is also is Hot Dog Day.

Don't forget to do your home reading every night. It is encouraged to take the same book home several nights in a row to practice fluency, especially at the higher levels. Please also ensure that your child brings his/her home reading book back to school everyday.

Please practice basic math facts on a regular basis.

Tomorrow is PE so please make sure your child has proper indoor footwear. Students should have indoor shoes that fit their feet properly. If your child is still unable to tie his/her shoes, please send a pair of Velcro shoes for indoors. Thank you for your cooperation.

The word family taught today was the -ine family. We brainstormed words such as nine, mine, fine, shine, combine, valentine, underline, etc.. Please practice these words with your child this week.

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school. We will be getting together with Mrs. Sandhu's class and Mrs. Steenson's class to do several activities with the number 100. We will be in the gym for a short time and will be doing several activities for 100 seconds. We will be counting, grouping, patterning, estimating and graphing in Math. We will even be doing an art activity this week.
Thank-you to those students who brought in a collection of 100 things to work with tomorrow. If you have not done so, please bring these items in tomorrow. Each student needs a collection of 100 things. Some examples are: toothpicks, beads, cereal, macaroni, marshmallows, etc.

I just wanted in let everyone know that we will be celebrating our 100th day of school next week. Students have been asked to bring a collection of 100 items in a zip-lock bag. Collections may include: 100 marbles, 100 straws, 100 toothpicks, 100 marshmallows etc. Please send the collection in a bag, as we will be doing sorting, counting and graphing activities with our collections. Please send the collection to school on Monday, February 20th.

A reminder of tomorrow's spelling quiz.

We also have gym tomorrow so please ensure proper indoor footwear comes to school.

Today we attended Young People's Concert. The Goh Ballet performed for us today.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Open House. You may come to the classroom at 9:00 for the students to showcase some of their work. We will head to the gym at 9:30 with Mrs. Sandhu's class for some dancing. Parents please wear some comfortable shoes as you will be participating! The Open House will end at 10:15 when the children go out for recess.

On Thursday the PAC is having a popcorn sale. Popcorn will be sold for $1. Only 1 bag per student please.

On Thursday Feb. 9 and Friday Feb. 10 the Me-to-We team is hosting a fund-raiser and all the money will go to a school in Nepal. At recess and lunch they will be selling homemade, peanut-free chocolates. They will be sold as a pack of 3 chocolates for $2.
