The word family taught today was the -ank family. We brainstormed words such as sank, plank, thank, drank, bank, blank, Frank, etc.. Please practice these words with your child this week.

A newsletter was sent home today with the first names of all of the students in the class in the event your child would like to hand out Valentines. Next Tuesday we will be handing out Valentines in the the afternoon. You are welcome to send a heart healthy snack to share if you wish. Thank you.

A reminder that this Wednesday, February 8th our class, along with Mrs. Sandhu's class, will be hosting an open house for parents to attend. The open house will begin at 9:00 am in the classroom. Students will be showcasing some of their work to date. We will head to the gym at 9:30 to perform some of the dances we learned in gym this year. Parents will be participating too!!!

Don't forget to do your home reading every night. It is encouraged to take the same book home several nights in a row to practice fluency, especially at the higher levels. Please also ensure that your child brings his/her home reading book back to school everyday.

Please practice basic math facts on a regular basis.

Tomorrow is PE so please make sure your child has proper indoor footwear. Students should have indoor shoes that fit their feet properly. If your child is still unable to tie his/her shoes, please send a pair of Velcro shoes for indoors. Thank you for your cooperation.
