I hope everyone had a restful weekend. The grade 1 students will get 7 spelling words starting this week.

The word family taught today was the -ill family. We brainstormed words such as hill, will, spill, chill, anthill, thrilling etc.. Please practice these words with your child this week.

A reminder that our class will be skating next Monday (January 23) at ISC (Interior Savings Centre). Please ensure your child has skates, a helmet and a booster seat on that day. Thank you to those parents who volunteered to drive. We will be leaving the class shortly after the 8:30 am bell.

On Wednesday February 8th our class, along with Mrs. Sandhu's class, will be hosting an open house for parents to attend. The open house will begin at 9:00 am in the classroom. Students will be showcasing some of their work to date. We will head to the gym at 9:30 to perform some of the dances we learned in gym this year. Parents will be participating too!!!

Don't forget to do your home reading every night. It is encouraged to take the same book home several nights in a row to practice fluency, especially at the higher levels. Please also ensure that your child brings his/her home reading book back to school everyday.

Please practice basic math facts on a regular basis.

Tomorrow is PE so please make sure your child has proper indoor footwear.
